Spanish Fiestas are known
throughout the world.

Spanish fiestasFood, good wine, fireworks, bands and singing, fiestas are lively and colourful and in most towns and cities throughout the year. There can be religious, medieval and special celebration fiestas in fact, fiestas for everything. The Spanish don't need an excuse for a party and with the Spanish weather it's always a good time for a fiesta. Some of the biggest are in the South of Spain, you won't be disappointed.

Torrevieja has lots of fiestas throughout the year including Christmas. 
This video is the fiesta that is on the 5th of January, the day before the holiday of The Three Kings this is when the Spanish children give and receive their gifts (not 25th December). This fiesta is for the children and the floats are usually designed with children in mind and most give out presents or sweets. But are we not all kids at heart and join in the fiesta.

The big fiesta in Torrevieja and a must see for all the family. Dancing, bands, music, colourful floats and dress wear. A fabulous spectacular if you are near Torrevieja you should make an effort to visit and see this spectacular fiesta.

May Day is celebrated in lots of countries but none more so than in Spain and Torrevieja has a very big May Day or should I say week as that's how long it lasts Feria de Mayo is May Fair time in Torrevieja. At the port in Torrevieja large marquees are erected and good food and wines are available to celebrate the May Fair.   Thousands go to visit the fiesta and the parade of horses. The Spanish dress in traditional costumes and the children join in the fun. There are also fireworks and many other entertainments to enjoy.

Ojos is a very small village with a big fiesta celebrating its patron saint.
Everyone takes part including the local priest, the police chief and the town
mayor. It starts very early in the morning with very loud fireworks then mass in the local church. There is music, singing and dancing and all this is in the morning. You have guessed it it goes on till the early hours of the following morning.

Moors and Christians in Guardamar  is a must see festival in August it is one of the biggest of its kind in Spain. There are many such fiestas in Spain celebrating the Moors and Christians battles. Guardamar attracts thousands of people throughout Europe to see its fantastic fiesta.  Just look at the costumes and the work that goes into producing the parade.
